Middle Elementary Environment
(8-10 yrs of age)

The  Montessori Middle Elementary Environment at Kalpagam Montessori Resource Centre follows all the principles laid down by Dr. Maria Montessori for the children between 8-10 years of age. The environment is prepared carefully keeping in mind the psychological, physical, emotional, social, moral and intellectual needs of the children in the 2nd Plane of Development.

Here, we gently introduce a structured curriculum to the children where a cocktail of content is made out of topics from IGCSE, ICSE, CBSE and Samacheer (TN Govt) syllabuses for the 4th and 5th grade level. All topics will be introduced using the authentic Montessori Guided Discovery Approach and later, consolidation is done by the children. They also indulge in deeper follow-up work which includes research and projects. The children will also be exposed to evaluations in the form of timed worksheets from this stage on wards. Thus, slowly preparing them to face the conventional methods of schooling, if and when they move out from here. 

 

 Here also we have a mixed-age environment where all the children between 6-12yrs of age learn together. Children are introduced to a multitude of  hands-on activities in Language (English, Tamil, Malayalam & Hindi), Arithmetic, Geometry, History, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Computer Science and Electronics .
