Thank you for showing interest in the Montessori Homeschooling Guidance Program (2021-22). The program will benefit your child’s academics and your entire family with useful information on child development, psychology, and homeschooling practices.

 

With the lockdown in place and schools not opened for the academic year, we understand that the herculean task of educating your child has landed on you. Whether your child is already attending some other school or is yet to go to school, we understand that you will be anxious about your child’s academics and overall development.

 

In this program we will be focusing on the Montessori system of education, which is a tried and tested method of education for over 100 years! It doesn’t matter whether your child is currently attending a Montessori school or not. The system is catered to serve children regardless of their changes in environments and previous experiences.

General Information about the program:

 The program is in a hybrid format with online orientation, hands-on activities and one-on-one review & guidance sessions.

• Online orientation: You will attend 10 online orientation classes where the Montessori system and the curriculum will be explained in detail.

• Hands-on: After you attend all the 10 online sessions, your child will receive customized Monthly activity kits (Montessori In A Box) based on your child’s previous experiences, interests and capabilities. The kits will be backed with instructional videos and worksheets.

• Review & guidance sessions: Every alternate Saturday, a Montessori guide will call and review the activities, providing continued support and guidance.

General Information about the online orientation:

 

• You will attend 10 online orientation sessions all together for 2 weeks (Mon-Friday).

•  Date of the first session: 14 June 2021.

• Timings will be from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm / 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm.

• The sessions will be interactive and not ‘lecture’ based.

• The link for the Google Meet will be sent to you only after you have made the payments for the orientation classes.

• Please make sure you are on time for all the sessions. None of the sessions will be repeated later on.

• When you are attending the online sessions, kindly make sure your child is not nearby. Make sure you are completely free from any form of distractions during the class timings. Your undivided attention is mandatory.

 

Online orientation session content:

The goal of conducting the online orientation is to equip the parent with a deep and clear understanding of the Montessori system of education and homeschooling in general.

The following topics will be covered in your orientation:

1. Introduction to Montessori system of education

2. Child psychology: 4 stages of Development

3. Child psychology: How children learn

4. Child psychology: Understanding your child’s psychology during the pandemic

5. Montessori Principles - “Freedom within limits” & “Inculcating Discipline” during pandemic and homeschooling.

 

Scope and curriculum of various subjects according to your child's age will also be covered during the orientation. 

For Primary level children (2-6 yrs of age) the Topics will include :

1. Preliminary Activities (which focus on fine motor and gross motor development)

2. Practical Life

3. Sensorial & Cognitive Activities

4. Language Curriculum

5. Arithmetic Curriculum

6. Science and Social Curriculum

For Elementary level children (1st to 5th Grade) the Topics will include :​

1. Practical Life

2. Language

3. Arithmetic 

4. Geometry

5. Science - Botany, Zoology & Physics

6. Social Studies - History & Geography

The classes will be interactive and engaging with lectures, presentations, videos and practical demonstrations.

Montessori In A Box kit content:

Since the Montessori method is completely activity-based and child-centric, each kit will be custom-made for your child based on your child’s interest, capabilities, previous achievements and current goals.

 

The materials will include activities from the subjects which will be relevant to your child's development.

Payment Details: 

The total cost of the Online orientation is Rs15,000/-. The Google meet link for the orientation sessions will be provided to only those who have made the payments promptly.

 

The payment can be either made in

• One go (on or before 10th June, 2021)

        Or

• 2 installments (1st installment of Rs7500/- on or before 10th June, 2021 &

 

The cost for the monthly Montessori In A Box kit will be purely based on the level at which your child is currently in. The monthly rates are as follows:

                        2yr old – Rs2500/-

                        3 yr old – Rs3000/-

                        4 yr old – Rs3500/-

                        5 yr old – Rs4000/-

                        Grade 1 – Rs4500/-

                        Grade 2 – Rs5000/-

                        Grade 3 – Rs5500/-

                        Grade 4 – Rs6000/-

                        Grade 5 – Rs6500/-

                       

The cost is inclusive of the materials, worksheets and online support.

The materials will only be dispatched in the consecutive month if the payment is promptly made on or before the 10th of the previous month. (Exception being the 1st month where the payment for the 1st kit needs to be paid on or before 20th of June 2021)

 

Refund Policy:

The fee is non-refundable. Once paid it cannot be refunded for any reason either prior to the commencement of or during the course on withdrawal of a student. Parents will be required to submit a Refund Policy Acceptance letter at the time of payment of fee.

Admission Procedure:

• Your participation will only be confirmed once your payment for the orientation gets through before 10th June, 2021.

• Once your participation is confirmed for the orientation session a video call will be scheduled to meet up with your child. It is a highly informal video call. This is done only to have an idea about the child’s interests and level of academic achievement so far.

• After the video call, we will suggest the level for the Montessori in a Box kit for your child.

• Further specific details regarding the kits will be shared with the participants only after all the previous steps have been completed.

Kindly note that this is a rare and tailor-made course, one of its kind, formed with the sole intention of preparing parents of children between the age group of 2-10yrs to handle the challenges of homeschooling at the time of this pandemic and lockdown. A maximum of 15 participants will only be taken in for each grade level. This way we can make sure everyone has the opportunity to interact and get the maximum benefit out of the sessions. Therefore the admissions will be on first come first serve basis.
